This guide is a starting point for finding materials for Professor Smith-Irowa's research paper. You will need to choose a country in South/Central America, Africa, the Middle East, or Asia. You cannot choose India, Japan, or China.

You will need to research

• the 20th century history of your country, especially indicating how your country was formed
• modern artists in your country
• modern musicians in your country
• modern literature in your country
• the current political structure. Who is the leader of your country? When were elections last held? When will they be held again? What is the capital of your country?
