Recommended databases for industry information: Standard & Poors Industry Surveys and Business Source Complete.

Competition

Reference USA 
You'll use Reference USA to examine your competition in the geographic area that you are planning to start your business. Search the database by Yellow Page Heading refined by geographic area/zip codes and by company size. Also provides lists of direct competitors for each business in the database. You can also use Reference USA to develop your target market if your business will serve other businesses.
