The Library is under construction so all materials that were available for check-out are being stored in the Open Campus Center, room 135. You can go over to OCC 135 and a library staff member will pull your books for you. There are also people there that can help you identify the books you need. You can also Request books from the online catalog. You can choose to have your items held for you at the Main Library or in the OCC building. More information is available here:http://library.codlibrary.org/request/cod
There are many ways to locate and borrow materials that are owned by other libraries. You can physically go to most area libraries and use the materials there, or go to a partner academic library and use your library card to check out materials or make copies of articles.
To find books and journals in other Libraries, use the WorldCat database to find materials in libraries near you. (Make a WorldCat account and add C.O.D. Library as a "favorite." WorldCat will tell you if we have the books you are looking for.)
Order the book through Interlibrary Loan. The C.O.D. Library will order the book for you from the library that can deliver it to us the quickest. You will need as much information about the book that you know and your Library Card. The Library will call you when the book is ready for pickup.
First, make double-sure that we don't have it by using the Journal Locator.
If we don't have it, order the article through Interlibrary Loan. You'll need to have the journal title, article title, author and date of publication of the article. Have your library card handy.
As a student, you can order as many Interlibrary Loans as you need to complete your research.
Interlibrary loan of books usually takes 10-14 days. In many cases, articles will be emailed to you so you could have it in as little as 3-5 days.
