Books in the General Collection
To locate books in the General (circulating) collection you will want to do a subject search. For example: if I want to search for information on the Gracchi, I would type that into the subject box. If you do that you would not get any hits though. You have two choices. If you scan down the page you will see both Gracchus Gaius Sempronius 154 121 B C and Gracchus Tiberius Sempronius. Gracchi is the plural form of the name. Sometimes the way we spell names varies, particularly in this time period.
You could also click on Search as Words and you would do a keyword search.
You could also do a subject search on the time period and locate chapters or essays in books by using the table of contents or the index. Example: Rome -- History -- Republic, 265-30 B.C
