Any registered student, faculty, or staff member of C.O.D. may borrow materials from the Library. Obtain a card at the Circulation Services desk. You will be asked for
If you have purchased a C.O.D. student identification card or have a C.O.D. staff ID card, please bring it to the Circulation Desk to have it activated. You may also apply online for a temporary library card.

Students enrolled in online classes (your course location is "Internet") and Dual Credit high school students are able to obtain a library card online. Go to the Online Library Card Application for instructions. These student cards expire at the end of the semester, but they may be renewed if you take another online course by calling Circulation Services at 630-942-2106.
Citizens of District 502 who are 18 years of age or older may obtain a library card. Present proof of residency, age, and a photo ID at the Circulation Services desk to obtain a card. Community members may borrow any materials which normally circulate except personal materials which have been placed on Reserve. You may also apply online for a temporary library card. Library cards must be renewed every 3 years.
If you do not live District 502 but are employed in the District, you are also eligible for a library card. Please present a signed letter on company letterhead verifying employment, a photo ID, and proof of your current address. Out-of-district library cards expire one year from date of issue.
Faculty, staff, and students from these schools may obtain a borrower's card. Students must present proof of current enrollment and a photo ID at the Circulation Services desk to obtain a card. Faculty and staff may obtain a C.O.D. Library card by presenting a current staff identification card. You will have the same check out privileges as a community borrower except that Items on reserve for classes are not eligible for checkout by reciprocal members. Also you will have no off-campus access to the Library's databases..
Students in the Kids or Teens on Campus programs may have a Library card for the duration of their course. Contact your instructor for more information. Kids and Teens On Campus have the same responsibilities as other borrowers.
Students and faculty from other institutions who are attending classes located on the C.O.D. campus may obtain a Library card for the duration of the course.
Please present a photo ID and proof of current enrollment to the Circulation Desk to renew in person. Or you may receive a temporary renewal by calling Circulation Services at 630-942-2106. If you just forgot your card number, they will send it to your email address of record.
Replacement cards may be obtained for a $2.00 fee.
Your library card should be presented to checkout materials. If you have forgotten your card, materials can be checked out by presenting a driver's license. You are responsible for materials checked out on your library account so make sure you know where your card is and report lost or stolen cards promptly.
