The library has a great collection of French movies-- too many to list here! So I've put together a short list of some new releases, must-see classics and a couple personal favorites. Amusez-vous bien!

| Le Petit Lieutenant Antoine has just been transferred from Normandy to Paris. He is happy, but his wife prefers the country. Antoine loves her dearly, but he loves his job just as much. |
| L'armee des Ombres Army of Shadows A civil engineer who is one of the French Resistance's chiefs is given away by a traitor and interned in a camp. He manages to escape and join his network at Marseilles, where he has the traitor executed. Originally produced as a motion picture in 1969. Based on the novel by Joseph Kessell. |

| La Moustache When a man shaves off his mustache, a trademark he's had for years, no one around him notices, instead insisting he's never even had one. Is he going insane, or is this some kind of strange conspiracy? |
| La Haine Hate Saïd is an Arab, Hubert is black, and Vinz is a Jew, all of them young, unemployed and living in a dreary, troubled Paris suburb, largely inhabited by poor immigrant families. Each of them needs to vent the anger they feel about the police brutality that landed another friend in the hospital. The film focuses on one day in the lives of these three hoodlum friends and the result is a brutal, harrowing study of the cyclical nature of violence. |
| 8 Femmes 8 Women A wealthy industrialist is found murdered in his home while his family gathers for the holiday season. The house is isolated and the phone lines have been found to be cut. Eight women are his potential murderers. Each is a suspect and each has a motive. Only one is guilty. |
| Les Yeux sans Visage Eyes without a Face A plastic surgeon, holed up in a Paris mansion, is obsessively slicing off the faces of kidnapped women and grafting the flayed skin onto the rotting countenance of his beloved young daughter, disfigured in an automobile accident. Special features include Blood of the beasts, Georges Franju's 1949 short documentary about the slaughterhouses of Paris; archival interviews with Franju on horror, cinema, and the making of Blood of the beasts; excerpt from Les grands-pères du crime; theatrical trailers, and stills gallery of rare production photos and promotional material |
