Archive Of Early American Images 
Contains images from the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University. "THE ARCHIVE OF EARLY AMERICAN IMAGES database is intended to assist historians in their quest for contemporary images to illustrate their research findings and to facilitate the study of historical images in their own right and in proper context. It is also intended to be a unique resource for picture researchers, documentary filmmakers, and others looking for material for commercial use." Images must be purchased for reuse.
Digital History 
Covers all periods of U. S. history. Includes recorded speeches, film trailers, historic music, images, primary sources, textbooks, and other resources.
Images of American Political History 
All images are thought to be in the public domain. Includes photos, maps, ads, engravings. etc.
Library Of Congress: Prints And Photographs Online Catalog 
About 1 million digital images from the Library's holdings. Many, but not all images are in the public domain. It is the users responsibility to make sure they are in compliance with copyright or other licensing restrictions. Coverage is broad: baseball cards, architecture, photography, the Middle East, and depression photos are just some of the subjects.
University Of Washington Libraries Images 
Collections of images including photography, fashion, Native Americans, and the West among many other topics. Some licensing fees may apply.
